AFGHAN VOICES IS A CONTENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME THAT TRAINS ENGLISH-SPEAKING AFGHAN YOUNG ADULTS TO PRODUCE NEWS, DOCUMENTARY FILMS AND OTHER MEDIA PRODUCTS.
At the heart of the project is the belief that Afghans are in the best position to tell their own stories. Although training is integral to our work, content creation is the focus and ultimate goal.
Afghan Voices has placed material on Tolo TV, the leading independent channel in Afghanistan, and is presently in negotiations with other independent media in Afghanistan about producing regular programming.
Afghan Voices journalists are present across the entire country including Herat, Kunduz, Kandahar, Mazar, Jalalabad and Kabul. Our work is shot in Full HD and edited by an experienced master editor. We broadcast in Pashto, Dari and English.
In addition to the output generated by the Afghans, the project is also producing an intimate cinema vérité documentary highlighting journalists in the Afghan Voices training program, directed by Afghan American filmmaker Sedika Mojadidi.
We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with additional media partners inside and outside the country.
